AIRBUS: How to reduce aircraft weight and carbon footprint?
What is the need/issue expressed?
Airbus is constantly seeking to reduce the weight of its aircraft. Less weight means substantial fuel savings and a smaller carbon footprint. When designing a new bulkhead, separating the galley from the passenger compartment, the engineers had to face a new challenge: building lighter, while finding the most suitable materials to achieve the best resistance. Exceptional strength is another priority for the aviation giant; the safety of its passengers depends on it.
